Still needs more work, but I figured it was good enough for people to use day to day at this stage. Enjoy!
This is so awesome. Please oh please add -webkit-font-smoothing: antialiased to the body - this would be enough for me to rely on it. Also, have you considered open-sourcing it? I'd send this as a pull request happily : )
I pulled the source out already and made a number of edits and fixes. Notably, figured out how to get the comments at the right width, made the up and down vote arrows look right, smoothed the font and replaced helvetica with a nicer-looking alternative from google webfonts, etc.

If you want these things, give me a github repo and i'll give you a pull request : )
Hey Jeff, that’s awesome. I already fixed up the comment stuff locally but will set up a repo and have a look at the pull request. Happy to make this an open source project for other DN’ers to contribute to.
Will do some more work on it this evening and update this thread once I have things set up.
+100000 on -webkit-font-smoothing:antialiased;
This is really solid though
BTW, feel free to shoot through any feedback or requests on this thread and I’ll keep track of what people want fixed up, added or changed.
I need to redesign designer news now :)
Ha! Hopefully it’s received as the homage it’s intended to be :D
This is the best thing ever! Thank you <3
You’re very welcome
This might be the best thing I've ever seen.
There was an issue with comments not working due to an overzealous css transition on the textarea. This now been resolved in v.0.4 You can turn on dev mode in your extension manager and click the update all extensions button.
I love it!
Haha, this is so awesome!
