What's new: Profile editing, Tiny avatars, "Site design" badge, and 15 more invites

We rolled out a few things this morning. Here’s what's new:

  • You can now edit your profile. Head to your profile page and hit the edit button. More to come with profiles soon.

  • We thought it would be funny to give everyone the ability to create 20x20 avatars. You can create them on the profile edit page.

  • A new badge! Prefix your post with "Site design:" if you're posting a link whose design is interesting.

  • We gave you 15 more invites. Don't invite jerks. You’re responsible for the people you invite. That means: if we have to kick them, we’ll kick you too.

Thanks for participating.

Woah, I'd bet you just made at least 20-30 designer drop everything and do pixel avatars instead.

Yeah, this is awesome. Drawing pixel art without the luxuries of photoshop is kinda addicting.

Such a feature would be awesome. I currently use Google (site:news.layervault.com) to find older posts.

What does: "A new badge! Prefix your post with "Site design:" if you're posting a link for" mean exactly?

Also, how do you add the other icons next to the posts?

0 points about 1 year ago Reply
Marian M., Visual & Interface designer

The universe would implode.

You get icons next to the post by using some keywords e.g. apple, dribbble, Ask DN:, Show DN:, etc. And now you can use "Site design:" with new icon.

0 points about 1 year ago Reply
Allan G., Founder at LayerVault

They're secret, but since this post will eventually sink, I'll reveal them here:

Dribbble, Apple, Discussion threads, Type/Font, CSS, Ask DN, Show DN, Site Design.

Derp. It's fixed for real now.

1 point about 1 year ago Reply
Marian M., Visual & Interface designer

Thank you, it's perfect! Perhaps the dark blue (#063273) instead of black for avatars would be more awesome..

1 point about 1 year ago Reply
Allan G., Founder at LayerVault

It's black for now because we're going to give you more colors based on your amount of karma :D

3 points about 1 year ago Reply
Marian M., Visual & Interface designer

Time to start posting cute cat pics! :D

0 points about 1 year ago Reply

Is karma going to remain as link-only or will comment karma eventually add to it?
